Position Overview

As the leader of the Austin, Texas site’s Human Resources function, the HR Manager provides support to the local R&D and manufacturing functions, as well as all of the enabling functions (Finance, IT, administration, etc.) and their teams.  Partners with these business units to achieve their business goals through the provision of strategic HR services related to talent management, recruiting, performance management, leadership and team development and change initiatives. Also assists with the implementation of related corporate HR initiatives and with the delivery of services against established HR scorecard metrics. Responsible for certain operational duties including payroll and benefits administration.

Business Partnership:

 

Through strong relationships with customers and business knowledge, connect people plans to business goals and performance. Align goals to enable a common focus. Achieves this by:

  • Ensuring goal clarity and alignment
  • Providing insight regarding colleague and organizational issues and opportunities

HR Mastery:

 

Demonstrate the necessary HR skills to make a difference. Ensure the function is able to fulfill its service requirements through strong partnership and implementation of sound HR processes.  Processes include:

 

  • Building the talent pool, from recruiting through talent and succession management
  • Performance management and implementation of the annual evaluation and merit review process
  • Providing compensation-related guidance
  • Effective colleague relations
  • Able to effectively balance the competing responsibilities of being a business partner & employee steward
  • Interpretation and administration of policies and procedures as applicable
  • Building a trusting work environment, that embraces diverse thinking and empowers employees to perform at high levels of engagement
  • Handle various operational functions, such as payroll and benefits administration, compliance audits, working with external vendors and, as business conditions warrant, other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and minimum of five years of related HR experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

 

  • Prior experience in manufacturing environment preferred

 

  • Proficient PC application skills to include UltiPro, iCIMS and Microsoft Office software

 

  • Ability to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily

 

  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills with ability to be a team player

 

  • Excellent communication skills

 

  • Ability to be a responsive problem solver and action oriented

 

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality

 

  • Must be able to establish credibility quickly and operate with the highest integrity
