Position Overview

Ensure the delivery of quality materials in a timely manner while continuing to reduce total delivered costs. Develop and maintain a consistent line of quality suppliers for all materials and services purchased by CryoLife. Support management of materials in all Georgia locations, and support the regulatory and quality environment and all financial controls.


  • Ensure compliance to all SOP’s, BPP’s, applicable Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and applicable QC/QA procedures. Uphold the CryoLife Core Behaviors.


  • Manage materials with a complex supply chain. Use Excel and SAP to evaluate items with long lead time materials to assure availability and minimize scrap due to expiry.


  • Prepare bid packages and supply agreements. Establish and maintain effective supplier relationships. Participate in supplier scoring and communicating the scores to the supplier.


  • Interface with receiving and incoming Quality Control in order to prioritize work load.


  • Reduce costs, resolve discrepant materials and invoices and expedite all orders.


  • Keep management informed of market trends. Trends include potential shortages, significant changes in pricing, etc. Assist in identifying alternate materials if approved materials are no longer available.


  • Initiate and present an ECN. Where applicable, be the Purchasing representative for approving ECN’s.


  • Use SAP. If applicable, maintain SAP master files, which include the vendor master, information records and material master.


  • If applicable, may conduct staff training and maintain departmental compliance to training procedures.



  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 3 years of experience in Purchasing in a regulated manufacturing environment


  • Experience with an ERP system with SAP experience preferred


  • Strong written and verbal communication and analytical skills


  • Ability to multi-task


  • Excellent organizational skills


  • Proficiency with Word and Excel
