    Position Overview

    To provide students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the medical device industry.  Interns will have the opportunity to network with industry professionals, further their knowledge in clinical research and regulatory strategy, and play an integral role in their department’s success.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities will include:

    • Assist in the execution of preclinical and clinical test plans to support Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) approvals and Premarket Approvals (PMAs).
    • Assist in the development of preclinical and clinical investigational protocols, informed consent forms, case report forms, handouts, etc.
    • Assist with site evaluations and the execution of research agreements with hospitals and site investigators.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and relevant standards to support inspection preparedness.
    • Assist with department SOP revision project.
    • Conduct literature reviews and write research summaries related to product line
    • Communicate with customers, consultants, and field staff regarding the planning and execution of preclinical and clinical studies.
    • Assist with general correspondence.
    • Conduct basic statistical analyses.
    • Organize and present clinical research plans, status reports, and/or results to leadership.
    • Other assigned responsibilities or special projects, as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Currently enrolled as a full-time student, preferably with an interest or background in life sciences. Engineering degree preferred.
    • Junior or Senior in good academic standing
    • Ability to work a minimum of 15 hours per week
    • Interest in a career path in the medical device industry.
    • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ideal candidates must be organized, hardworking, self-motivated, and enthusiastic.
