    Position Overview

    Assist management in the review of all Microbiology records to ensure they are compliant with all required Standard Operating Procedures.  With minimal supervision, interact with people at all levels in numerous functions.


    • Perform quality review of the following records within the Microbiology Laboratory (not to include review required by a Microbiologist):
    • Human Tissue Test Results (Incoming, Preprocessing, BacT, and Rinse Recovery)
    • Accession sheets associated with Microbiology testing
    • All Environmental Monitoring Results
    • Medical Device testing (Bioburden, Sterility, LAL, etc…)
    • Interface with Microbiology staff and other applicable personnel to clarify and/or correct the information provided, and to solicit required information.
    • Understand ISO requirements, GTPs and the Quality System Regulations as they pertain to the Laboratory, i.e., nonconformities, Good Documentation Practices, calibration, equipment maintenance, etc.
    • Develop systematic methods for completing work assignments to ensure deadlines are met and personal job commitments are accomplished.
    • Keep self, superiors, and associates informed of significant information, company policies and procedures, and will provide such information in a manner that others give support and willing cooperation.


    • High School diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree in the Life Sciences or an equivalent field of study preferred.
    • Must be able to maintain a high activity level and be able to effectively manage and prioritize numerous projects and responsibilities.
    • Must be able to grasp verbal and written instructions quickly, have strong mathematical skills, and have the ability to communicate and interface with people at all levels.
    • Must have personal computer skills, i.e., word processing, spreadsheets, and general data analysis.
    • Must exhibit excellent judgment by considering all pertinent factors, making decisions quickly and carefully, and accepting responsibility for the decisions.
    • Must be open-minded, flexible, and able to adapt easily and accept new ideas quickly.
    • Must be persistent, determined to accomplish the job, and reliable in following through and completing assignments.
    • Must be a self-starter, alert for situations requiring action, confident of being able to think situations through, and possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
