    Position Overview

    Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex contracts and agreements to support the Company’s business in the United States and abroad.  Support the Legal Department’s work related to M&A, due diligence, health care compliance, securities, employment, training, and litigation, among other areas.  Support efforts to optimize the role of the legal department in the Company.


    Responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts for an international medical device Company, including sales and distribution agreements, clinical agreements, licensing and R&D agreements, vendor and supply chain agreements, and others.  Establish best practices and manage the overall pipeline of contracts for the Company. 


    This position will work extensively with many functions and areas of the Company in an effort to understand both business goals and corporate risk, and to implement the approach in the best interest of the Company.   While this position will have the primary responsibility of managing the contract process at the Company, it will also be tasked, as needed, with a variety of responsibilities to support the legal needs of any area of the Company, working independently or under the General Counsel or Associate General Counsels based on the project.


    The Legal Department serves as a trusted advisor and partner to all facets of our business. The successful candidate will be expected to approach his or her work with a customer-focus and a results-driven attitude.  The Legal Department works as a unified whole, and attorneys, paralegals, and support staff are often called upon to complete work outside of their immediate area of responsibility, which enables us to provide exceptional service to our internal clients.


    This position is ideal for a candidate who enjoys creating elegant solutions to challenging issues; is a fearless and effective negotiator; is curious about new areas of the law; is diligent, self-motivated, and accountable; invests deeply in identifying and satisfying client needs; and works easily with a fast-moving team of strong talent and personalities.


    • J.D. required.
    • Membership in good standing of any bar association, 8–15 years of legal experience, with significant contracting and/or M&A experience. 
    • Strong law firm experience preferred. 
    • Must be a self-starter, able to work independently, be comfortable handling a wide variety of legal matters and have a strong work ethic.
    • Preference given to experience in the biotechnology, medical device, pharmaceutical or other life science industry.
    • Strong presentation, negotiation and communication skills required.
    • Ability to work well with diverse internal clients and external parties.
    • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
