    Position Overview

    Provide direction for clinical investigations for On-X Heart Valves, TMR, and TMR, allograft tissues. Manage Project Specialist/Managers of the On-X valve program. Establish department goals/objectives as related to identified programs/products.. Provide direction for the departmental clinical service functions

    Responsibilities

    • Management and development of Project Specialist/Managers of On-X valves, TMR, and TMR, allograft tissues.
    • Communicate departmental goals/objectives and assist with establishing project timelines and priorities.
    • Generate and manage budgets for identified programs/products.
    • Direct the development of preclinical and clinical study protocols for identified programs/products (regulated and non-regulated).
    • Direct the management of biocompatibility, preclinical and clinical research projects for identified programs/products.
    • Direct the design, management, and application of clinical databases for identified programs/products.
    • Direct the collection, analysis, and presentation of clinical performance data.
    • Assess outside study proposals for risks and benefits. Develop and propose alternative studies designs to promote scientific soundness.
    • Interface with senior management, technical representative, regional managers, project teams, contract research organization, and clinicians.
    • Communicate with customers, and technical representatives regarding clinical data, complaints, problems, and general correspondence.
    • Management and oversight of Clinical Services.
    • Attend surgical congresses as necessary.

    Qualifications

    • BS or MS degree in biological science, engineering, statistics, or other science related field.
    • 6+ years experience, within the medical/biomedical industry.
    • Experience working in the heart valve industry.
    • Working knowledge of conducting IDE and IND clinical trials.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Preclinical and Clinical oversight/management.
